SARAJEVO, January 12 (FENA) - Today's session of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina ended with merely approving the ratification of several international agreements.

Before the end of the session, the delegates rejected several initiatives proposed by a delegate of the Bosniak People's caucus, Denis Bećirović (SDP), one of which referred to a request to the Council of Ministers to submit to the Parliament the Bill on the protection of water for human consumption in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As Bećirović explained, this is a very important area that should be regulated by law, recalling the recent event when tons of waste floated on the surface of the Drina River to the hydropower plant in Višegrad, creating an ecological catastrophe.

Apart from that, yet another Bećirović's initiative was not rejected, which should have instructed the BiH Council of Ministers to submit to the parliamentary procedure a complete analysis of the established parallel ties between the Republic of Serbia and the entity of Republika Srpska, with special reference to respecting the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The House also rejected another one of his initiatives, which was also supposed to instruct the BiH Council of Ministers to send the Genocide Prevention Strategy in Bosnia and Herzegovina to the parliamentary procedure within the next six months.
