SARAJEVO, January 6 (FENA) - Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sifet Podžić received today in a farewell visit former EUFOR Commander in BiH, Austrian Major General Reinhard Trischak.
Minister Podžić thanked him for the extraordinary efforts he has made to ensure that the excellent cooperation of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH with EUFOR is at the highest level, especially when it comes to assistance in training the AF BiH.
Podžić highlighted Trischak's leadership of EUFOR in support of the Mostar elections, co-operation with civil society organizations and the BiH Red Cross.
Among the current challenges for BiH, the Minister mentioned the migrant crisis and informed the general with his experiences and the specifics of the role of the BiH Armed Forces, whose troops set up tents for temporary accommodation of migrants at the "Lipa" camp near Bihać.
General Trischak emphasized that during his mandate, members of the AF BiH showed a high degree of professionalism and dedication in all activities, for the benefit of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He wished Minister Podžić an even more successful year and the continuation of good cooperation with EUFOR, led by the newly appointed Commander, Major General Alexander Platzer, PR Office of the BiH MoD announced.
