BiH Court rejects the Prosecution's appeal in the case of Mehmedagić et al.

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, January 4 (FENA) - The Extrajudicial Chamber of the Court of BiH today in its entirety rejected the appeal of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH in the case of Osman Mehmedagić, Selmo Cikotic and Muriz Druškić.

On December 29, 2020, the Preliminary Hearing Judge issued a decision rejecting the indictment of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, filed against Osman Mehmedagić, Selmo Cikotić and Muriz Druškić, for the criminal offense of Abuse of Office or Authority, the Court of BiH stated.

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH filed an appeal against the said decision, which was today in its entirety rejected as unfounded by the decision of the Extrajudicial Chamber, which confirmed the first-instance decision. The appeal of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH in no way managed to dispute the legality and regularity of the first instance decision.

Due to the increasing attempts to violate the integrity of judges and the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the goal is to devalue the reputation and authority of the State Court, the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina calls on relevant international institutions, the OSCE Mission to BiH, the Office of the High Representative, Union and others, to thoroughly examine this case and gain insight into the court filings in order to inform themselves about the work of the Court in this, as well as in other cases.
