SARAJEVO, January 4 (FENA) - The Joint Committee on European Integration of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiHPA) discussed, at today’s session, a set of parliamentary initiatives by Denis Zvizdić related to fulfilling the obligations of the European Commission Opinion and domestic and international obligations that BiH took over through several documents.

The initiative regarding the development of the Integrated Energy and Climate Plan for BiH was accepted, which, as Zvizdić said, will enable us to harmonize with the legislation, but also access to funds, investments and grants in the field of energy efficiency, use of renewable energy sources, innovations and more, as well as initiatives such as the development of a strategy and action plan for the fight against corruption for the period 2021-2024, which is not accepted today, which prevents 75 BiH institutions from harmonizing their internal acts related to the fight against corruption and crime.

At the session of the Committee, the parliamentary initiative of Denis Zvizdić was not accepted, which is related to the drafting of the law on the regulator, market and transmission of electricity, which is one of the obligations from the Third Energy Package.

“I was really surprised that the initiative for drafting a strategic document for young people was not accepted, which would enable us access to IPA funds of the European Union to send a message to young people that they are not forgotten, but that they are the most important population for BiH's future. As far as I am concerned, I will blankly, as an MP, a member of the BiHPA Collegium, sign every document that means further progress on the path to European integration,” said Zvizdić for FENA.

All the initiatives he sent to the parliamentary procedure, as he added, are based on two documents - the first is the Work Program of the Council of Ministers of BiH and they were not implemented in 2020, and the second is the analytical report and the Opinion of the European Commission for BiH. that clearly and precisely defined obligations of BiH on the path of European integration.

“Today's vote on my initiatives showed that there are pro-European forces that are fully committed to European integration, to which I also belong, but that there are also those forces that look at it selectively, declaratively according to the "buffet" system, wanting to take what suits them, and rejecting what does not suit them,” Zvizdić added.
