IGC calls for January 9 to be marked as day of beginning of aggression on BiH

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, January 4 (FENA) - The Institute for Research of Genocide Canada (IGC), bearing in mind that the marking of January 9 in the Republika Srpska entity continues, called on all organizations and communities in BiH and the diaspora to mark that date as the beginning of aggression and genocide in BiH.

“By mass marking of January 9 as the day of the beginning of aggression and genocide in BiH, we send a clear message to the anti-Bosnian coalition to know what are the historical and legal facts about that shameful date. We urge the pro-Bosnian coalition and the international community to take concrete action to punish all those who, by marking this date as the day of the Republika Srpska entity, work directly not only against the state of BiH but also against peace and security in the world, against European Union, NATO, the United Nations,” the IGC said in a statement.

They add that the marking of January 9 as the day of the RS entity is the result of "anti-state and illegal and anti-civilization activities of the great nationalist Serbian political option."

The IGC reminds that the verdicts of the highest world courts and numerous relevant scientific papers have proven and established that January 9 can be linked only to criminal activities and aggression to the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, attempt to create a Greater Serbia, genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.

This is one of the darkest dates in the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Europe, as IGC points out.

“We consider January 9 as the beginning of the open non-recognition of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The RS entity is not the result of Serb desire for freedom, but of a Greater Serbia project led by indicted war criminal Slobodan Milošević. The BiH Constitutional Court issued a decision declaring the RS Law on Holidays unconstitutional. Disrespect of the Constitutional Court of BiH is a direct attack on the state of BiH, but also on the EU, the UN and the international order, as well as peace and security in the world,” the IGC said.
