SC inspectors to control observance of orders and measures for New Year's Eve

FENA Jasna Avdibegović

SARAJEVO, December 26 (FENA) - Cantonal inspectors in the Sarajevo Canton will monitor compliance with epidemiological measures on New Year's Eve.

“The situation in Sarajevo Canton, we can rightly say, is currently under control, and such a situation is achieved by the fact that about 20 inspectors work every day in the first and second shift, very often after midnight and during the weekend, which has been going on continuously for the last ten months and continues to be done. Here I would like to point out an interesting fact that during this year, compared to the number planned, we achieved about 10,000 more surveys, which was largely due to the epidemiological situation caused by the coronavirus,” spokeswoman of KUIP KS Vildana Brdarić told FENA.

Brdarić emphasized that in the Sarajevo Canton, catering facilities, especially hookah bars, as well as shops, have so far been the most frequently fined facilities of supervision due to non-compliance with the adopted hygienic-epidemiological measures.

“This is best illustrated by the fact that in the past month, out of a total of 70 issued misdemeanor orders, we issued 54 misdemeanor orders to caterers in the Sarajevo Canton in the amount of 95,145 KM. What should be pointed out is that in the last period, bookmakers have been registered as frequent violators, due to not wearing masks and disrespecting physical distance,” said Brdarić.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, cantonal sanitary inspectors, in addition to conducting daily field inspections, have also issued decisions banning movement only for persons who have been in direct contact with Covid-19 patients or with persons suspected of being infected with coronavirus.

These decisions are issued exclusively on the basis of epidemiological reports of the Public Health Institute of the Sarajevo Cnton. For patients with Covid, orders are issued by the SC Ministry of Health.

“So far, we have passed 6,251 decisions on the ban on movement, the observance of which is monitored by the officers of the SC Ministry of the Interior. So far, based on the submitted official notes of the police, due to the violation of the movement ban, sanitary inspectors have initiated misdemeanor proceedings against 31 people in SC before the competent court,” said Brdarić.
