BRČKO, December 23 (FENA) - The Assembly of the Brčko District of BiH held a constituent session at which the new deputies took the oath, and Esed Kadrić (SDA) was elected the new mayor.
The current mayor, Siniša Milić (SNSD), has been appointed president of the Assembly of the Brčko District of BiH, and Ivo Filipović (HDZ BiH) has been elected vice president, the Assembly of the Brčko District of BiH announced.
Mayor Esed Kadrić announced that next year will be a year of major reforms in Brčko in the institutional sense and a year of preparations for the implementation of major significant infrastructure projects, and that a challenging period for the new Government will follow.
“It is necessary to point out that the new government, in cooperation with the parliamentary majority, will work intensively from tomorrow on the preparation of the new budget for 2021 with all the elements that must respond to the negative consequences of the coronavirus pandemic. In everything, we see a great chance for public investment that will compensate for the current crisis we are in,” said Kadrić.
He added that the wholehearted support of supervisor Scanlan is necessary in order to approach cooperation with international financial institutions and the realization of large infrastructure projects.
He stated that the optimal plans are for Brčko to get a new government in full capacity by January 20, respecting the deadline for vetoing appointments.
