SARAJEVO, December 16 (FENA) - The delegation of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly organized a round table in Sarajevo, with the aim of exchanging opinions and views on Euro-Atlantic integration and the 66th session of the NATO PA.
Chairman of the Delegation of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Asim Sarajlić in a statement to the press, after the introductory part of the meeting, said he is aware that there are many open issues and political turmoil but thinks that the future of BiH has no alternative and that our future is in the European Union and in NATO.
“We are on the NATO path, we are in the Partnership for Peace. We are conditionally in an action plan for full membership in NATO. The reform program we have adopted, based on the agreements, difficult negotiations, and dialogue adopted by the Presidency, is a precondition for encouraging thinking about what we will do in 2021. Our path is unquestionable, our future in NATO is certain. Of course, this must be preceded by major changes, an internal dialogue must take place,” he said.
The commander of the NATO headquarters in Sarajevo, Brigadier General Eric Folkestad, points out that 'the decision lies within Bosnia and Herzegovina, on political leadership'.
“We've been here for sixteen years. Hopefully, it won’t take that long to make that decision. Our doors are and remain open. Of course, the decision is up to the political leaders,” he said.
A similar activity was announced for February next year in the Assembly of the Republika Srpska in Banja Luka.
