SARAJEVO, December 15 (FENA) - BiH Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik at today's meeting with UN Resident Coordinator in BiH Ingrid MacDonald emphasized that the epidemiological situation in BiH is complicated and that they are currently maximally focused on the procurement of vaccines.
Dodik thanked the UN for its engagement in the procurement of vaccines and reminded that BiH is part of the covax model, through which it seeks to provide a sufficient amount of vaccine, the BiH Presidency said.
MacDonald emphasized that her office has very good cooperation with the ministries of health in the Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH.
She also pointed out that the University Clinical Center of Republika Srpska and the hospital in Doboj have the largest number of recovered patients in BiH.
Recalling that BiH is part of the covax program, MacDonald agreed with the Chairman of the BiH Presidency that the Council of Ministers needs to make urgent decisions in order to procure 1.2 million vaccines for BiH.
MacDonald informed Dodik that the UN Secretary-General in a recent speech pointed out that the priority in the next year is the formation of a global coalition for the fight against climate change, and that a summit will be held in Glasgow on that occasion.
