Majority of the initiatives proposed by Zvizdić supported by BiH PA Committee

SARAJEVO, December 7 (FENA) - A series of committee meetings were held today in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA) to discuss initiatives submitted by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Denis Zvizdić.

The Committee on Finance and Budget of the House of Representatives of the BiH PA supported the parliamentary initiative of Denis Zvizdić under which the House of Representatives instructs the Council of Ministers of BiH to submit to the PA BiH at least once a month updated information on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina the number of tested, infected, recovered and deceased throughout BiH, as well as the measures taken by crisis headquarters at all levels of government, and further measures that the Council of Ministers plans to take to protect the health and lives of citizens and mitigate the economic damage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, with special emphasis on the manner of spending the planned budget funds intended for mitigating the economic damage caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Committee also supported an initiative to instruct the BiH Council of Ministers to prepare and submit a new proposal for the Law on Medicines and Medical Devices to the parliamentary procedure as soon as possible in order to harmonize this regulation with the new EU regulations.

The initiative instructing the Council of Ministers to prepare a lex specialis Bill on the Prevention of Hate Speech on the Internet was considered and accepted, as well as the initiative to send the Draft Framework Law on Environmental Protection, Development and Use of Natural Resources of BiH into parliamentary procedure. Within 30 days, it is necessary for the Council of Ministers of BiH to prepare the Bill and send to the parliamentary procedure both the Draft Law on Metrology of BiH and the Draft Law on Official Time in BiH.

The initiative of Denis Zvizdić, according to which the Draft Law on the Census of Population, Households and Dwellings in BiH should be prepared and sent to the parliamentary procedure, has also been supported.

The parliamentary initiative for the Council of Ministers to prepare and send to the parliamentary procedure the Bill on the manner of using and disposing of the non-prospective military property was rejected because it did not have the support of at least one representative from the Serb and Croat peoples.

Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Denis Zvizdić, submitted 16 initiatives to the parliamentary procedure, with which he wants to speed up the reform processes and the adoption of important laws.

He pointed out that the executive and legislative power at the state level must, instead of the established practice of hibernation, work actively on integrations, rehabilitation of the consequences of the pandemic, economic recovery and general progress of BiH.
