Vidović: No evidence to support allegations in indictment against FBiH PM

FENA Agency

SARAJEVO, December 4 (FENA) - The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina today filed an indictment against Fadil Novalić, Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fahrudin Solak, suspended director of the Federal Civil Protection Administration, Fikret Hodžić, director of "F.H. Srebrena malina”, and Jelka Milićević, Deputy Prime Minister of the Federation and Federal Minister of Finance.

Legal entity “F.H. Srebrena malina”, and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH charges Novalić, Solak and Hodžić with association for committing criminal offenses related to the offenses of abuse of position or authority, receiving a reward or other form of use for trading in influence, money laundering, forgery or destruction of business or trade books or document, forgery of an official document and breach of the obligation to keep commercial or business books and compile financial statements and to falsify or destroy them”.

“I have not seen the indictment yet, except for the part stated by the media, so I would not speculate. But truth be told, I have to say that I have never had a cleaner case in my career. For six months now, with colleagues, investigators, including international experts, we have been collecting and verifying evidence, conducting our investigation. There is no evidence to support the allegations in the indictment for the prime minister, and there is absolutely no evidence of money laundering and accepting gifts,” Vasvija Vidović, chief lawyer of Fadil Novalic's defense team, including Nikica Grzic, Muhidin Kapo and Nina Karačić, told FENA.

“Given that we have witnessed the media harangue for the past six months, which I would call pre-trial trial, I want to emphasize that I sincerely believe that the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will approach the case as professionally as possible and will carefully consider how much and what evidence the Prosecutor's Office against the prime minister,” Vidović said.
