SARAJEVO, November 26 (FENA) - Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sifet Podžić received today Commander of the NATO Headquarters in BiH, Brigadier General William J. Edwards in a farewell visit.
Minister Podžić thanked General Edwards for the support of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo during his two-year term and expressed his expectation for the continuation of successful cooperation, especially in the activities of BiH in the process of approaching NATO.
Also, Podžić expressed gratitude for the commitment to the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH during his term and wished General Edwards success in his future professional and personal career, expressing the expectation that he will continue to be "one of the ambassadors of Bosnia and Herzegovina."
General Edwards once again emphasized the commitment of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo to continue cooperation, and thanked for good and successful cooperation. He emphasized that in the continuation of his professional career, he will help Bosnia and Herzegovina in its development and on its path to Euro-Atlantic integration.
The meeting, which was also attended by US Ambassador to BiH Eric Nelson with US Military Attaché to BiH Brigadier Michael Tarquinto, and Adviser to the Cabinet of the Minister of Defense Kemal Korjenić, was an opportunity to discuss current activities of the BiH Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the implementation of the BiH Reform Program, directions for future cooperation and other activities in the NATO integration process of BiH.
Ambassador Nelson especially praised the engagement and training of members of the BiH Armed Forces during the exercise of the BiH Armed Forces and the US "Bilateral Exercise 2020", which was recently completed at the military training ground of the BiH Armed Forces in Glamoč, announced the PR Office of the BiH MoD.
