SARAJEVO, November 19 (FENA) - The Chamber of Commerce of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Gender Center of FBiH presented today the "Support Program for women entrepreneurs affected by coronavirus - Implementation of online business".
On that occasion, the Chamber and the Gender Center signed an Agreement on the implementation of this program, and the signatories are Mirsad Jašarspahić on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce and Lejla Hodović on behalf of the Gender Center.
At a press conference held on the occasion of the presentation of the program, Jašarspahić said that since the beginning of the pandemic, the Chamber has been collecting information on the consequences for the economy and recognizing threats and opportunities for member companies. In this context, a special segment was assistance to women's entrepreneurship, i.e. companies where women are in management structures or are majority owners, and the operation of their businesses are affected by the pandemic. The program presented today was created with the aim of a better representation of such companies in the market.
Lejla Hodović from the Gender Center of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina thanked the Chamber of Commerce which addressed this center with a partnership and institutional proposal related to the implementation of the said program.
In gender segregation in the labor market, she added, the support program for women entrepreneurs is one of the segments of the fight against this problem.
The aim of the project is to empower and support women entrepreneurs whose activities are endangered due to the pandemic in the development and implementation of a new, online way of doing business, as well as education for self-management.
The transition to online business is imposed as an inevitability for all businesses because it mitigates the consequences and allows you to continue doing business online.
The project is financially supported by FIGAP II program, which is supported by the Kingdom of Sweden through the development agency SIDA.
