SARAJEVO, November 11 (FENA) - Head of the SDA caucus in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, Adil Osmanović, said that the OHR has no reason to wait six months with sanctions against Milorad Dodik.
We see that before the anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Agreement, Dodik is sending threatening messages in the context of the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he continues to talk about its possible dissolution, he continues to glorify war criminals. We also saw that, after the announcement of possible sanctions, Dodik did not show the slightest sign of will to change his rhetoric, moreover, he sent even fiercer and more dangerous messages, insulted the High Representative, insulted the US President, insulted the country in which he was born and the country he represents.
Given this behavior, it is clear that the OHR does not need to wait six months for sanctions against Dodik. Especially since he has already received the full support of the US, EU and UK, including announcements in the strategy of US President-elect Joe Biden, as well as a direct message from German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas that there is no place in the EU for those who glorify war criminals.
"The only right reaction is to apply sanctions immediately and show a decisive approach, so that it would be a message not only to Dodik, but also to all others who think of undermining the Dayton Peace Agreement and BiH's Euro-Atlantic path. No one will feel sorry for Dodik, not even those who support him now. They all would take his place and behave smarter and more responsibly" Osmanović said.
