Tegeltija with IMF delegation - A new arrangement expected in January 2021

SARAJEVO, October 30 (FENA) - The BiH Council of Ministers Chairman Zoran Tegeltija spoke today via video link with the Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission to BiH, Martin Petri.

The two officials discussed a part of planned activities and measures within the new arrangement with this international financial organization, as well as the reform areas that will be covered by the new arrangement.

Tegeltija informed the IMF representatives about the activities that the institutions in BiH are carrying out in the fight against the consequences caused by the coronavirus pandemic, stating that currently, the resources of all levels of government in BiH are focused on supporting the health sector and helping the real sector.

Speaking about the new arrangement with the IMF, Tegeltija pointed out that it is necessary to maintain the stability of the financial sector and to work thoroughly on the recovery of the health sector and the reform of the public enterprises.

He stressed the need for strong support for the economic recovery, with special attention to the industries most affected by the crisis, the BiH Council of Ministers said.

Tegeltija expressed the full commitment of all levels of government in BiH that, despite the difficult work of the Mission due to the pandemic, BiH expects the successful completion of negotiations by mid-December this year, and the conclusion of a new arrangement in January 2021.
