Košarac and representatives of entity ministries on improvement of agriculture

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, October 23 (FENA) - Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Staša Košarac organized a meeting today in Sarajevo on current issues and measures to improve agricultural production in both BiH entities.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republika Srpska Boris Pašalić and representatives of the relevant ministry in the Federation of BiH.

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the fact that BiH submitted to the European Commission a completed revised Questionnaire for the export of red meat to the EU market. The previous activities related to the possibility of exporting table eggs to the European market were also analyzed, and it was stated that the three ministries, in accordance with their competencies, will fulfill the necessary obligations in time to achieve that goal.

The meeting defined the upcoming steps necessary for the adoption of laws and other regulations that will enable the approval and use of EU funds in the field of agriculture.

The officials pointed out that it is necessary to reach an agreement on the methodology of the agricultural census and marking of animals as soon as possible, and it was agreed that the competent entity ministries and statistical agencies take all activities so that this process can be implemented in 2023. It was concluded that there is no need for the adoption of a law on the agricultural census, but a unique methodology on the basis of which the census will be conducted, on which there is the consent of the competent entity ministries and statistical agencies.
