SARAJEVO, October 15 (FENA) - Institute for Youth Development KULT has developed an innovative platform for anyone who wants to quickly, easily and clearly learn the facts about what has been done in a certain period in order to improve the position of young people in local, cantonal, entity or state level.
The largest database of government care for young people is available on the link tipra.me as of today, the Institute for Youth Development KULT announced.
It is said in the statement that in 2019, every tenth municipality in BiH has fulfilled the legal obligation to adopt and implement a strategy for young people.
“We are witnessing an increasing number of young people leaving Bosnia and Herzegovina. If the government's attitude towards young people does not improve, we cannot expect anything to change on that issue,” said Aldin Alić from the Institute for Youth Development KULT and added that they symbolically launched the platform today to make it easier for young people to make decisions in local elections.
KULT has been monitoring and analyzing youth policies in BiH for ten years by collecting official data in this area, data on institutional mechanisms based on BiH youth laws as well as international standards and recommendations.
There are more than 470 politicians, 230 government institutions and 20 political parties at the tiPra.me platform.
The data according to which tiPra.me calculates the affection of institutions towards young people were collected directly from the institutions. The Institute for Youth Development KULT submitted to all institutions that have legal obligations towards young people a questionnaire that the institutions filled out and submitted to the Institute on an annual basis. Institutions that did not submit the questionnaire were assessed as not having institutional mechanisms for youth care.
The Institute for Youth Development KULT told young people to choose in the elections, instead of voting. The message to the government institutions is to implement the mechanisms provided by the laws on youth, KULT stated.
