SARAJEVO, October 9 (FENA) - FBiH Minister of Environment and Tourism Edita Djapo and her associates met today with USAID representatives who presented a program of projects worth 20 million dollars, which will be implemented in the field of tourism in the next five years.
It was also discussed that USAID tourism experts will assist BiH in developing a tourism development strategy for the Federation of BiH, Republika Srpska, the Brčko District of BiH and the state level of government.
The comprehensive strategy will consist of several segments and treat in detail tourism products and experiences, destination management, human resources and creating the best possible connection between sustainable tourism and the environment.
Minister Djapo informed the USAID representatives about the current situation in tourism, implemented and planned investments and programs. As an aggravating circumstance in her work, she stated and emphasized the slowness of the adoption of reform laws.
Since the FBiH Ministry has already initiated certain activities, USAID will support the development of protocols for tourism during the coronavirus pandemic. Detailed plans and programs will be developed to establish measures for the safe travel of tourists, all with the aim of promoting Bosnia and Herzegovina as a safe tourist destination, the FBiH Ministry of Environment and Tourism announced.
