SARAJEVO/ZAGREB, September 29 (FENA) – President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bakir Izetbegović, gave an interview to RTL television in Zagreb yesterday ahead of talks with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.

Izetbegović commented to the statement of the RTL journalist that ten days ago he criticized Croatian Prime Minister Plenković and President Zoran Milanović for the arrival of Milorad Dodik, and that he would consider coming to Zagreb and replied that he did not say he would consider, but that he should not let Croatian leaders to Dodik's interpretations, that of course they have to talk and that he will respond to Plenković’s invitation.

"As for Mr. Milanović, I think we will have to wait first that he meets his colleagues, partners from BiH, members of the Presidency. At this moment, it is the Chairman Šefik Džaferović. That was Milanović's disrespect towards Džaferović, BiH and the structure and constitutional order,” Izetbegović responded.

He stated that he should have met with Džaferović first, and not with Dodik, whose policies are destabilizing, his messages represent anti-integration. We know his attitude towards Bosniaks and Croats in RS. A year and a half ago, he awarded a medal to General Lisica who bombed Zadar. Why would someone meet with such a man before the chairman of the Presidency.

Asked whether he would discuss the most important topic for Croatia during the meeting, "about the position of Croats in BiH", and whether the topic of changing the election legislation would be opened, Izetbegović said that it would be one of the topics, but that we have to harmonize everything in order to make changes to the election law. "

“Not just to single out what one side is interested in. It is very complex and everything must be applied,” Izetbegović added.

The journalist commented that Izetbegović "must understand the dissatisfaction of Croats in BiH given the fact that Željko Komšić was chosen by the will of Bosniaks" and Izetbegović emphasized that Komšić was chosen by the will of the citizens.

“We cannot forbid people who they will vote for. The Constitution of BiH stipulates that one Bosniak, one Serb and one Croat must be elected to the Presidency of BiH, and not a Bosniak, Croat and Serb representative,” Izetbegović explained.

“On the other hand, the HDZ has been blocking the formation of the FBiH Government for two years. They said until we get an election law the way we want, there is no FBiH Government. For a year now, the formation of the FBiH court has been stopped by the HDZ. We have our demands and a compromise must be found. First of all, I came to Zagreb to change the atmosphere. Let's not look for solutions with Dodik, but among ourselves,” stated Izetbegović.

RTL journalist quoted Milanović "Komšić parasitizes to the detriment of Croats in BiH" and Izetbegović replied that it was a very bad statement.

He added that we need to make compromises and talk more in order to create a better atmosphere in BiH, a better political atmosphere in BiH, better relations between Bosniaks and Croats, better relations between Croatia and BiH, and that he expects Croatia to make strides.
