SARAJEVO, September 28 (FENA) - The United Women of Banja Luka Foundation (Udružene žene Banja Luka) organized a panel discussion in Sarajevo today entitled "The Role of Activists in the Processes of Sustainable and Lasting Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina".

The project coordinator of the  Foundation, Gorica Ivić, the goal of the panel discussion was to encourage dialogue on peace activism and to contribute to the development of motivation of young people in BiH to actively participate in reconciliation processes and establishing sustainable peace in BiH."

"We are organizing a panel discussion as part of the "Peace Bench" project, which the United Women of Banja Luka Foundation is implementing thanks to the support of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Resilience Initiative program (BHRI).

The implementation of the project is supported by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and includes activities that should contribute to strengthening civic engagement in peace processes in BiH," Ivić told FENA.

She noted that this was the third out of the four planned panel discussions, which they are organizing within the "Peace Bench" project.

"Previous panel discussions have had a large participation of young people from the entire region and were organized online, via Zoom app. The project itself was created as a result of the initiative of young people from the University of Banja Luka, and the central activity is building the "Peace Bench", as a monument of peace in Banja Luka," said Ivić.
