Komšić: Declarations to break up BiH express opposition to Strasbourg verdicts

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, September 27 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić reacted to the announcement of Milorad Dodik on drafting of the declaration of HDZ and SNSD on the exit of two peoples from BiH if the principle of "constituency of the people" continues to be called into question on the basis of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights, and the civil organization of BiH is required, his office announced yesterday.

According to Komšić, the implementation of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights inevitably leads to the definition of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a civil state.

“Our commitment to Bosnia and Herzegovina as a civil state is completely correlated with these verdicts. The fact that Dodik and Čović do not like these verdicts, because they have different visions, is not our problem but theirs, and they have no problem with us but with European and civilizational values. Their eventual declarations do not oblige anyone to anything, nor are they exclusive representatives of Serbs and Croats. The last time some had illusions that nations could be taken from state to state ended tragically,” Komšić said in a statement.
