SARAJEVO, September 21 (FENA) - Center for the Development of Youth Activism (CROA) gathered young people from Sarajevo, Goražde and Foča in the Botanical Garden of the National Museum of BiH for a workshop with sevdalinka interpreter (traditional Bosnian music) Damir Imamović and fashion designer Marko Feher.
As part of the 'Art of Democracy' project, on the International Day of Peace, they spoke about activism in all areas, and the artists presented their own examples.
Marko Feher is of the opinion that activism is a way of life, not a current situation or a current need. He told young people that they cannot expect that something would change for them, but that they themselves are the change.
Damir Imamović talked about his life path, the challenges he encountered. He considers it important to build his own approach to work. He emphasizes the value of every conversation and wishes there were more at the beginning of his career.
UN Resident Coordinator in BiH Ingrid Macdonald emphasized that the workshop is part of the Dialogue for the Future project implemented by UNDP, UNICEF and UNESCO, and includes BiH, Serbia and Montenegro. The goal is to bring young people together and to talk about things they have in common (trust, human rights, art).
International Day of Peace (September 21) is also marked as the anniversary of the United Nations, which they founded after World War II to strengthen the idea of maintaining peace. For years, world leaders have been gathering in New York on this day, but this year they will mark it virtually. Therefore, young people gathered in Sarajevo today because it is important that world leaders, as it was said, hear their voice.
