Continued attacks on the Institute for Genocide Research Canada

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, September 21 (FENA) - The Institute for Genocide Research Canada (IGC) has been under attacks since its inception, by genocide deniers, paid lobbyists - falsifiers of judicial, scientific and historical facts about aggression and genocide in BiH, glorifiers of war crimes and war criminals.

The attacks escalated in particular at a time of intense work on the International Court of Justice's advisory opinion on the abolition of the entity of Republika Srpska (RS), which has been created on the results of a committed genocide, the institute said.

Starting from the fact that the very existence of the entity of RS after a series of genocide verdicts is the reward for the perpetrators of this criminal project, the IGC considers it important to obtain an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice on whether the RS should be abolished after the genocide verdicts rendered by the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Tribunal.

Obtaining the stated advisory opinion is a test and a temptation of personal and collective activism, which must include the academic, research and material capacities of BiH and the diaspora.

The elimination of evil, such as the entity of RS, would be a noble thing for all peoples and citizens in BiH, especially for Bosnian Serbs, so that all BiH citizens in its entire territory are truly free, and it would open a new opportunity to jointly create a better state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice is therefore a universal idea and practice, which should offer a universal message that genocide does not pay off, that something created by genocide cannot survive.

“Truth and justice are an integral and most important part of the future of a better BiH and all its citizens and peoples. The motive for the struggle of the Institute for truth and justice is not hatred against the other and the different, but the liberation of the victims from fear through a culture of remembrance, and in the name of a better future,” the Institute said in a statement.
