Salkić: Another war criminal has died, but the consequences of the crime remain

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, September 15 (FENA) - Another war criminal has died, but the consequences of his crime remain, as do followers of the ideas on whose behalf serious war crimes were committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the genocide against Bosniak Muslims in the UN safe area of Srebrenica, committed by members of the army and the police of Bosnian Serbs, said the Vice president of the entity of Republika Srpska, Ramiz Salkić, on the occasion of the death of convicted war criminal Momčilo Krajišnik.

Salkić notes that any mention of Momčilo Krajišnik should be in the context of a convicted war criminal and in the context of an idea and ideology aimed at the occupation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the complete eradication of the people comprising a majority population in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bosniak people.

"It was he who led the rebel Bosnian Serbs at the session at which the strategic goals that foresaw this dark scenario were adopted. A conviction labeling him a convicted war criminal is only partial satisfaction of justice.

When we have a certain time distance and the 1992 criminal ideology has been completely defeated, the fact will remain that Momčilo Krajišnik was a convicted war criminal, together with the judgment of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, which lists all the crimes for which he was held responsible and found guilty, partly because his responsibility was greater than that determined by the court verdict," concluded Salkić.
