SARAJEVO, September 14 (FENA) - Testimony of Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina Gordana Tadić before the Provisional Inquiry Commission of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiHPA) to determine the situation in BiH judicial institutions has been postponed for September 24.

As its chairman Damir Arnaut announced after the 10th session of the commission, the Secretariat of the Commission has meanwhile received a letter from the Prosecutor's Office of BiH stating that due to previous and urgent obligations, the Chief Prosecutor was unable to testify today.

Arnaut assessed the work of the Commission so far as quality and credible and added that this parliamentary body finds very good cooperation, stating that the Chief Prosecutor of the Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor (ODP) of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH (HJPC) Alena Kurspahić- Nadarević and her deputy Mirza H. Omerović will be heard on October 1 as well as the President of the Court of BiH Ranko Debevec on October 8.

The Commission appointed another group of witnesses, whose hearing follows, one judge, several lawyers and representatives of professional journalists 'associations - the BiH Journalists' Association, the RS Journalists' Association and the Banja Luka Journalists' Club, as well as the Association "BH Journalists".

Responding to journalists' inquiries, Branislav Borenović, a member of the Provisional Inquiry Commission, expressed expectation that in an open conversation with the state prosecutor, certain answers would be reached regarding the situation in the judiciary and what needs to be improved.

Convinced that the Commission will have the support in the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina to improve the situation in the judiciary "from the deadlock", Borenović said that it is important that elected representatives of citizens have the opportunity to talk to key people from the judiciary.

The Commission began its work with a session in Sarajevo and the adoption of the Rules of Procedure in early June, and its formation followed after the so called "Horseshoe" affair came out in public, whose main actor is President of the HJPC Milan Tegeltija.

The Commission was established to collect data from judicial institutions in order to detect fundamental problems in its (non) functioning, which should result in changes to a certain set of regulations, which primarily refers to the HJPC.

Damir Arnaut, Zlatan Begić, Branislav Borenović, Alma Čolo, Zukan Helez, Mirjana Marinković-Lepić, Dragan Mektić and Mira Pekić were elected to the Provisional Inquiry Commission for determining the situation in the judicial institutions of BiH.
