SARAJEVO, September 8 (FENA) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Denis Zvizdić is confident that tomorrow's visit of the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs and Special Envoy for the Western Balkans to the State Department Matthew A. Palmer to Bosnia and Herzegovina will be useful for BiH and for all its citizens because US policy towards Bosnia and Herzegovina has always been aimed at mutual understanding of good and constructive political cooperation.
"I am looking forward to Mr. Palmer's visit tomorrow. A year ago, I had a meeting with Mr. Palmer and former US Ambassador to BiH Maureen Cormack in Washington, DC, and we discussed the current situation in BiH and the region. During the conversation, Mr. Palmer showed great knowledge and understanding of events in our country and the region, as well as the desire to contribute to the stabilization of the political and economic situation in BiH. I am sure that Mr. Palmer's visit will be useful for our country and for all its citizens because US policy towards Bosnia and Herzegovina has always been aimed at mutual understanding of good and constructive political cooperation," Zvizdić said for FENA.
Because of all this, Zvizdić sees Palmer's visit as a confirmation of good relations and the fact that the United States is still very interested in BiH and the Western Balkans region, and that it still has the role of a key stabilizing factor in our region. His arrival is also a confirmation that the United States remains strongly committed to protecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of BiH, and to continuing to preserve stability and security on Bosnia and Herzegovina's path to Euro-Atlantic integration.
“The USA is our great friend and the most important ally of Bosnia and Herzegovina in preserving the integrity, and together with the EU, real support for the democratization of BiH society, economic progress and strengthening the rule of law as one of the most important and fundamental values of organized states. I am sure that the results of Mr. Palmer's visit will be visible and focused on the integration and reform processes, as well as on the economic prosperity of our country,” Zvizdić concluded in a statement for FENA.
