SARAJEVO, September 2 (FENA) - BiH Council of Ministers Chairman Zoran Tegeltija said that at today's meeting with the entity prime ministers in Sarajevo, it was agreed to reopen BiH borders for foreign citizens who have not been able to enter BiH so far, provided they have a negative COVID-19 test result not older than 48 hours.

He added that it was agreed that the Council of Ministers of BiH, in cooperation with the entity governments, will prepare a program in the next 20 days that will contain a new investment cycle and economic relief for the period from 2021 to 2022.

”At the same time, a program for protection of domestic economy for the mentioned period will be prepared and we will present those programs to the public in the second half of September,” Tegeltija pointed out.

He also stated that it was decided to open the process of negotiations with the IMF and that they expect representatives of that institution to visit BiH in October.

“After that, we could negotiate a new arrangement with the IMF in the next two months. We also expect that negotiations with the European Commission related to macro-financial assistance will be completed soon,” Tegeltija explained.

He specified that he would ask the European Commission not to tie the macro-financial assistance only for one year, but for the next five to six years as for the EU member states.
