Investors from Kuwait visit Investment Promotion Agency of BiH

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, September 1 (FENA) - Director of the Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Investments in BiH (FIPA) Milica Marković spoke today with representatives of the Kuwait-Bosnian Business Council.

Kuwaiti investors operating in BiH pointed out that investors from Kuwait would invest more in BiH if the business environment was more favorable and simpler, and spoke about their experience and difficulties they had, from the founding of the company to the implementation of individual projects.

They cited the taxation system in the country and the issue of residence permits for foreigners as the most significant problems, and emphasized that investors go where it is easier to do business.

Marković informed the guests about the competencies of different levels of government in BiH and that FIPA will work on proposing measures to improve the business environment in order to position BiH as a more competitive investment destination.

Under the condition that the existing problems are eliminated, Kuwaiti investors have shown interest in other projects throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in the coming period will send letters of intent to FIPA for the implementation of certain projects.

The two sides also agreed on the cooperation on the organization of Kuwait-Bosnia and Herzegovina Trade Fair, as an opportunity to intensify investment and trade relations between the two countries, said the FIPA.
