SARAJEVO, September 1 (FENA) - Deputy in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Marina Pendeš (HDZ BiH) commented today in Sarajevo the migrant crisis and told reporters that she expects certain activities to be initiated in the BiH Ministry of Security, but also in the BiH Council of Ministers.
“Because if you submit a plan of activities and measures how the migrant crisis should be resolved in terms of stopping illegal migration, then it should be acceptable to all members of the Council of Ministers. The solution to the migrant crisis is not to build certain facilities to accommodate migrants and spend money that is not, in my opinion, and the HDZ representative in the BiH Council of Ministers in the past and current convocation, adequately and transparently presented,” said Pendeš.
She added that they asked in the last convocation of the Council of Ministers of BiH, and now they are asking that if the European Commission and any donor outside BiH is ready to donate and help Bosnia and Herzegovina when it comes to the migrant crisis, then it must be done transparently, through a single account.
According to her, everything else can cause certain doubts and effects, whether we will be effective or not and whether we will make someone responsible or not.
“In that sense, the most important thing for me is to increase the number of police officers in the Border Police, to make an adequate response to prevent illegal crossings. When we talk about asylum seekers and people seeking asylum in BiH, we support every activity in order to accommodate these people, families, minors or children, and provide them with health care and education. Everything else is not an adequate answer for me,” said Pendeš.
Asked about the BiH Election Law, i.e. the amendments proposed by Saša Magazinović, a member of the House of Representatives, Pendeš said that "if there really is a solution to the BiH Election Law, then the Election Law would not be partially touched upon, but essential changes that HDZ BiH has been talking about for many years should be made.
