SARAJEVO, September 1 (FENA) - Deputy of the Serb caucus in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dušanka Majkić (Alliance of Independent Social Democrats - SNSD) asked for answers on how much BiH has received from various sources to help solve the migrant crisis.
BiH Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda (Croat Democratic Union - HDZ) said that there are dedicated accounts opened to help BiH resolve the migrant crisis and confirmed that 781,845 KM has been paid into that account by the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees so far.
Also, 1,190,258 KM were paid into the special account of the Ministry of Security, and in addition, the Government of the Czech Republic paid about 1.8 million KM, and the competent ministries fill in applications into the Single Treasury Account.
BiH Security Minister Selmo Cikotić (Party of Democratic Action - SDA) said that it was confirmed to him at yesterday's meeting on migration, which was attended by representatives of international organizations, that the European Union has paid 70 million euros since the beginning of the crisis in BiH.
“These funds are paid into the account of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and they are spent on paying and renting accommodation for migrants, payment of salaries to employees and for the purchase of food, hygiene supplies and medicines,” he explained.
He emphasized that he had no information on other international donors, but announced that he would provide comprehensive information to deputy Majkić.
