SARAJEVO, September 1 (FENA) - An MP in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly Aljoša Čampara (SDA) submitted today to the Chairman of the Assembly and the Collegium of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly a proposal for urgent adoption of the Law on Amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs of SC and the Law on Amendments to the Law on Police Officers at the next session.
It is said in the explanation that the Police Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior of SC but also the Ministry of Interior of SC, i.e. the representatives of these bodies have expressed a priority need to amend the laws in order to eliminate certain conflicts and ambiguities and valid legal solutions, which would create conditions for employment of police officers, realization of the right to promotion, more efficient operation and functioning of organizational units within the Police Directorate, their organizational redefinition and improvement of the security system in the Sarajevo Canton, especially having in mind increasingly complex situation with the migrant crisis in BiH, and thus in the area of the Sarajevo Canton.
Representatives of the US Embassy, OHR, SC Police Administration and SC Police Union, as well as all members of the working group that was formed by the decision of the SC Minister of the Interior and who were directly involved in defining the laws in question, supported the amendments to both laws.
