Serbian national from Užice indicted for smuggling migrants into BiH

SARAJEVO, August 17 (FENA) - The Prosecutor of Department III of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has filed an indictment against Miroslav Jovančićević, born in 1963 in Užice, the Republic of Serbia, a citizen of the Republic of Serbia for enabling transport and stay of illegal migrants.

According to the indictment, on May 28, 2019, the accused accepted the offer to transport the smuggled persons, citizens of Cameroon, to Sarajevo for the agreed amount of money, after they had previously entered illegally from Serbia into Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the commission of the criminal offense, the accused was discovered by the police officers of the BiH Border Police in Zekovići, Višegrad municipality, who found smuggled persons during the control of the said vehicle, without valid travel documents.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation, stated the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.
