BRČKO, August 11 (FENA) - The Government of the Brčko District of BiH adopted today Proposal of the decision on allocation of funds under the Law on Mitigation of Negative Economic Consequences caused by the state of natural disaster due to coronavirus in Brčko.
Head of the Department for Economic Development, Sports and Culture Pero Gudeljević said that on the basis of covid-19 laws, a total of 4.130.189.18 KM were allocated for these purposes, all in order to try to reduce the economic consequences for companies and entrepreneurs in the District, announced the Government of the Brčko District of BiH.
"Based on the Decision of the Government, i.e. the Program adopted by the Government for the third month of this year, certain funds were allocated, and for the fourth month it was done on the basis of this Law, passed by the Assembly. The total number of companies covered by subsidies this time is 1.774 and these companies employ 7.940 people. Due to the fact that the criteria under this Act were somewhat stricter than they were in the Decision for March, a number of applications were rejected. Some companies did not meet these conditions, therefore a total of 144 requests have been rejected. Part of these requests was rejected because the companies did not have a reduction in turnover or did not settle all obligations related to taxes and contributions in previous years," said Gudeljević.
He also stressed that the amount of funds is approximately the same as it was for March this year.
"Now we have a smaller number of companies, and the amount of money is approximately the same because this time 860 KM are allocated for companies that have acquired the conditions to get paid salaries and contributions, and in the Program it was about 760 KM. I hope the decision today will be signed and when we receive the signed decision, we will send the prepared, necessary documents to the Directorate of Finance for payment. I believe that this will not take longer than four or five days," Gudeljević said.
He reminded that the Law defines that a certain type of measures will be taken even after the declaration of a natural disaster ceases.
