SREBRENICA, July 14 (FENA) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Zvizdić today visited the Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Center and exhibition "Exodus" by renowned BiH painter Safet Zec.
On that occasion, Zvizdić paid tribute to the innocent victims of genocide, and then held a meeting with Management of the Memorial Center in Potočari.
He said in a statement for FENA that the essence of his visit was to pay tribute to the victims of genocide and show respect for their families.
“We will never forget Srebrenica, people will come to Srebrenica every day, every week and every month. We will especially insist that future young generations will come to Srebrenica to learn and be aware, by looking at authentic photographs and listening to authentic testimonies, of what happens when evil overcomes good and what happens when the democratic world watches and does not react to actions of fascist barbarian hordes with the intention of realizing the fascist idea of killing an entire nation,” said Zvizdić.
He said that revisionism, denial of historical facts and authentic testimonies would not be allowed, and that perseverance in seeking justice and punishing the organizers, planners and perpetrators of genocide must continue until the end.
Zvizdić also expressed support for the work of the Potočari Memorial Center, stating that with arrival of the new director Emir Suljagić, "a new kind of energy came, a commitment to a very serious historically important task for Bosniaks and BiH".
“Of course, we will all personally, institutionally and functionally participate in the realization of all projects that will finalize the Memorial Complex project,” Zvizdić pointed out.
