Novalić: It is my obligation as human being to join the Peace March

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, July 10 (FENA) - Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalić and FBiH Minister for Issues of Veterans and Disabled Veterans of Defensive-Liberation War Salko Bukvarević joined the participants of the Peace March early this morning at the beginning of the third and last section in Mravinjac.

This route is about 25 kilometers long.

On this route, participants also pass Kamenica hill, where more than a thousand civilians were killed in 1995, and the same number were captured at that time.

“As a human being, it is my obligation to pass at least part of the Peace March route. This is the minimum contribution we can give in memory of all those who passed this march from Srebrenica in July 1995, but also all those who were killed in Srebrenica or on this march,” said Prime Minister Novalić in Mravinjac.

This year's Peace March, the 16th in a row, was organized in specific conditions due to coronavirus pandemic. As a precautionary measure, groups with less than 50 participants were organized.

The Peace March, with a total length of almost 100 kilometers, is led by the survivors from Srebrenica, who went the same way, only in the opposite direction, in 1995, fleeing the death.

Numerous citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also from many other countries of the world, join Srebrenica survivors on the Peace March every year.

The arrival of the participants at the Potočari Memorial Center is expected today in the late afternoon, the PR Office of the FBiH Government announced.
