SARAJEVO, July 9 (FENA) – Director of the BiH Border Police Director Zoran Galić and Assistant Director for Organization and Operations Dragan Kulić received newly appointed Police Attaché of the French Embassy to BiH Phillippe Gangloff today, along with his associates Vanessa Roumiguie and Nisveta Hadžić.
Director of the BiH Border Police, Zoran Galić, congratulated the newly appointed attaché, who is visiting BiH BP for the first time, and introduced him to the agency, its structure, competencies and current activities carried out at BiH border, the BiH Border Police announced.
They also discussed the current security situation in BiH and region, especially about the migrant crisis and burden that the BiH BP has been struggling with for years.
“BiH's border police are facing major challenges, especially when it comes to the migrant crisis. There is a growing influx of migrants trying to cross the state border illegally. The BiH Border Police has been struggling with a shortage of staff for years and is continuously carrying out temporary internal transfers, as well as the extraordinary engagement of police officers in the units that are most exposed to migratory pressure," Galić said.
The participants in the meeting agreed that the police officers of the BiH BP must be maximally protected and equipped in order to protect themselves and take all possible measures to prevent the spread of covid-19.
Director Galić and the Police Attaché of the French Embassy in BiH expressed openness for continuation of cooperation between the BiH Border Police and the French Embassy in BiH.
