BiHPA HoR does not support initiative to dismiss Minister Staša Košarac

SARAJEVO, June 10 (FENA) - At today's session, the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly did not support the initiative to dismiss BiH Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Staša Košarac.

Thirteen MPs voted in favor of this initiative, 15 were against and 11 abstained.

The initiative for the dismissal of the Deputy Minister of Civil Affairs, Siniša Ilić, received a general, but not the necessary entity majority of votes, so it will be forwarded to the Collegium of the House for harmonization.

Sixteen MPs voted in favor of Ilić's dismissal, 14 were against, and nine abstained.

Namely, the House of Representatives considered the requests for initiating a vote on the restructuring of the BiH Council of Ministers, by voting on the dismissal of BiH Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Staša Košarac and BiH Deputy Minister of Civil Affairs Siniša Ilić. 

The requests were sent by MPs: Predrag Kojović, Aida Baručija, Mirjana Marinković-Lepić, Damir Arnaut, Mirko Šarović, Dragan Mektić, Mira Pekić, Branislav Borenović, Nermin Nikšić, Sasa Magazinović, Zukan Helez and Nada Mladina.

The explanation of the initiative for dismissal of Minister Košarac states that during the declared state of disaster in the Federation of BiH and the state of emergency in the Republika Srpska, Minister Staša Košarac attended a gathering in a restaurant in Sarajevo, contrary to measures to combat the coronavirus pandemic and prevent the spread of infection prescribed by the FBiH Civil Protection Crisis Staff.

It is added that by his irresponsible behavior, this minister violated the laws in force during the state of disaster / emergency, abused his position and function of the minister for unhindered movement during curfew.

Deputy Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH, Siniša Ilić, is stated to have organized a wider gathering and celebration at his home during the state of emergency in the Republika Srpska at night, contrary to the measures to suppress the coronavirus pandemic and prevent the spread of the infection prescribed by the entity emergency situations crisis staff.
