SARAJEVO, June 3 (FENA) - Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Bisera Turković presented a diplomatic passport to BiH trophy athlete Amel Tuka.
Amela Tuka was awarded a diplomatic passport to travel easier to numerous world competitions and to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina in the best light in terms of sports. A diplomatic passport is awarded to persons by the Minister of Foreign Affairs to perform a task or function of interest to BiH.
As Turković said, Tuka's engagement at the top of world athletics is the best way to promote Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is why this athlete belongs to the category of BiH ambassadors of the highest rank.
“Amel Tuka is number one person in the sports world. On October 1, 2019, he won a silver medal at the World Championships in Qatar. I personally witnessed that success and cheered for him. All the ambassadors together cannot leave such an impression as Tuka left. Every heart beat in a sign of his support and hoped to succeed in achieving a result that made us all proud. The heart never beats as hard as when such results are achieved for BiH,” said Turković.
Tuka emphasized that this is a special moment for him because he received something from his country that is very valuable and that he highly respects.
“Wherever I go, I proudly represent my country Bosnia and Herzegovina. We are unique as a nation and we should be proud. I will never forget the welcome after returning from Qatar. I hope that there will be more athletes like me after I finish my career, that there will be easier path to success for the generations to come. With friends from Qatar, we want to improve athletics in BiH. We want to renovate the tracks and stadiums and start a running school, and that is a big wind in my back to continue working,” said Tuka.
As he said, the diplomatic passport will help him a lot in his future projects, and he will do his best to justify the trust.
