SARAJEVO, May 24 (FENA) - The central ceremony of the Islamic Community in BiH, on the occasion of the Ramadan Bayram (Eid Al-Fitr), was held today at the Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque in Sarajevo, and the prayer and the Khutbah were led by Raisu-l-ulama Husein effendi Kavazović.
Raisu-l-ulama said on this occasion that we will remember this Ramadan by the great challenge that we had to deal with due to the coronavirus pandemic and stressed that difficulties can be overcome if we are responsible and in solidarity.
"Living a life worthy of a man means absorbing with one's being, heart and soul the ethical image of the world in which sincere belief in God is combined with honorable and exemplary behavior and living in community with people," said Kavazović.
Faith is the path that man steps on in complete devotion and obedience to God. It is a way that people live, a place where truth is distinguished from untruth, justice from injustice, and the right path from the wrong path. Kavazović added that faith is the deepest sense of responsibility towards life, a conscience that constantly emerges before us and tells us to treat other people with the concern and kindness we would like them to show toward us.
"The past three months have shown how important social awareness is in protecting people's health. We have learned a lot and now, with health protection measures, we need to do more to renew social life, to work and earn in the circumstances as they are. We are pleased with the measures that are being taken to protect jobs, and we are saddened that many people are losing their jobs. In order to preserve the level of social trust, it is necessary to prioritize cases of allegations in state institutions in the courts. Trust in state institutions is crucial on all occasions, especially in times of crisis. With God's help and diligent work of everyone in the community, it is possible to overcome every difficulty," said Kavazović.
