BIHAĆ, May 20 (FENA) - Minister of the Interior of the Una-Sana Canton (USC) Nermin Kljajić said today that an internal investigation would be conducted over the actions of police officers during one of the interventions in the temporary reception center Miral, given that a video showing the use of physical force appeared in the media.
“In the police, we have the Internal Control Service, which will examine whether there was an abuse of authority during the performance of official duties. If it is determined that there was or that the code of conduct was violated, those police officers will be sanctioned,” said Kljajić.
Reasons for the police intervention in this temporary reception center in Velika Kladuša were also explained.
“Migrants caused incidents in and around the center, and at one point migrants threw stones towards our officials. Due to causing riots, disrespect for officials and aggressive behavior of individuals when relocating them from the abandoned Miral facilities, we were forced to engage Specialist Support Unit,” said the Minister of Interior of the Una-Sana Canton.
