SARAJEVO, May 15 (FENA) - The MPs in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the appointment of Miloš Lučić to the position of Minister for Human Rights and Refugees in the BiH Council of Ministers, proposed as a candidate by the Democratic People's Alliance (DNS).
However, during the discussion on this proposal, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) MP Zukan Helez said that he did not receive Lučić's official biography, but according to what he heard from the media, Lučić introduced himself as a banker, but then said that he worked there with secondary education.
"We know what job you can hold in a bank with a high school diploma. This is a frivolous candidacy and by doing this we are derogating both the Council of Ministers and this country. Also, his property card should be submitted," he added.
The Party of Democratic Progress (PDP) MP Branislav Borenović also pointed out o the lack of logic regarding this appointment, although he says that he has nothing personally against the candidate who repeated the fourth grade of high school and did his undergraduate studies for another 12 years, but persons appointed to the BiH Council of Ministers cannot be below average with very “thin” qualifications.
Our Party MP Mirjana Marinković-Lepić asked if the DNS had a better candidate than the proposed one, adding that this proves that only political party affiliation is needed for the position and not competence, because so many young and highly educated people do not get a chance here and are unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
She underlined that she holds a PhD in the field of human rights, which is why she is aware of how complex the field of human rights is and requires much more competencies than what the proposed candidate possesses.
With 22 votes in favor, 15 against and one abstention, Miloš Lučić was today appointed Minister for Human Rights and Refugees in the BiH Council of Ministers.
