BiH Prosecutor's Office is taking over the ventilators procurement case

SARAJEVO, May 4 (FENA) - The Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina will take over the case in connection to the alleged irregularities related to the import of ventilators from the People's Republic of China to BiH, which cost about  10.5 million KM.

According to a press release from the state prosecution, the continuation of activities in the case was agreed at a meeting held at the initiative of Chief Prosecutor of BiH Gordana Tadić, held at the SIPA premises, with officials of SIPA, Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecution and the BiH Public Procurement Agency.

"After the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), based on its powers prescribed by the Law on Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorism Financing, carried out checks on allegations of irregularities in connection with the procurement of 100 ventilators from the PRC, and after evaluating the facts known so far, it has been asserted that the case lies within the competence of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, and further activities and verifications will continue and be conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.

In this regard, the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office will submit to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH during the day the said case that has been under their supervision so far, it is stated.
