MOSTAR, April 15 (FENA) - In the past 24 hours, two people passed away in the covid hospital of SKB Mostar, and the number of newly infected people in the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNC) has dropped for the fourth day in a row.
According to the Adviser of the HNC Prime Minister Darko Juka, a man born in 1959, from Medjugorje, and a woman from Čitluk, born in 1945, passed away. The deceased man had cardiac disorders and diabetes, while the deceased woman also suffered from cardiac problems.
In the past 24 hours, only one new case of Covid-19 has been reported in the HNC, in Čitluk. So far, 205 corona cases have been registered in the HNC, eight have passed away and 16 are reported as recovered.
Currently, 25 patients are being treated at Mostar's covid hospital, seven of which are on a ventilator and 12 are on oxygen-assisted treatment.
“We have not had new patients in Konjic for two weeks, and in Mostar in the last few days we have only individual cases that we are quickly putting under control and we have no major problems there. In Čitluk and Čapljina, we are taking further steps to bring these two municipalities under control. The last measures have contributed to the improvement of the situation and I believe that in the next seven days we will have these municipalities under control as well,” said the director of the Institute of Public Health of the Herzegovina Neretva Canton, Dr. Nermin Avdić.
Dr. Avdic said that the spread of the virus in the HNC has slowed down and that the goals set so far have been achieved.
Asked by a journalist about the possibility of relaxing restrictive measures, Juka replied that they are not thinking in that direction yet.
