USAID 'Diaspora Invest' – Support for entrepreneurs, prolonged call for grants

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, April 8 (FENA) - The United States Agency for International Development - USAID has taken steps to support entrepreneurs and investors through the Diaspora Invest project at an early stage of the COVID-19 pandemic expansion.

Thus, the deadline for grant applications has been extended to April 15 (www.grant.diasporainvest.ba), a contact line for entrepreneurs has been established, and consultative online sessions for entrepreneurs have been held, according to Diaspora Invest.

Among other things, the BiH Diaspora Business Center and the Arbitri Association, with the support of the USAID Diaspora Invest Project, held online training for entrepreneurs last week on the topic of employment relations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The USAID Diaspora Invest Project reminds that the call remains open until April 15, and that the procedure has been simplified, that is, the application has been reduced to an online project application.

“We have a great interest of BiH emigrants in starting a business in BiH, which is best illustrated by the fact that we cooperate and support over 100 companies that were started in this way. These investors are ready to stay in BiH, work to preserve existing jobs and create new ones. The grant program is there to support investment projects of this kind and we believe that we will have a great turnout in this round as well,” it is said in a statement.
