Aid from people of Turkey arrives at Sarajevo airport

SARAJEVO, March 24 (FENA) - Aid from people of the Republic of Turkey has been delivered to the Sarajevo International Airport today as humanitarian aid to the Red Cross of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

Aid packages consist of protective masks, gloves, protective suits and medical goggles. The Red Cross of Bosnia and Herzegovina will deploy this assistance to the entity Red Cross organizations, which will, in the current situation, assist to the institutions and organizations that are in need of this kind of help.

“At a time when our organizations work all day and night, this assistance means a lot. First of all, we need to protect our staff and volunteers, and then health, social and institutions in dire need. Turkey and Bosnia and Herzegovina have always had good relations, more than friendly, and we are very grateful for this assistance, which came at the right time. Otherwise, this cooperation is ongoing, and here in a crisis, friends are always there to help, so we would like to express appreciation to the Turkish people. This type of support is of utmost importance to an organization with limited capacity and resources,” said Rajko Lazić, Secretary General of the Red Cross of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Lazić expressed gratitude to all colleagues, staff and volunteers who are making every effort these days to help others who are in their homes. We also appeal once again to all citiznes to show responsibility, and to stay at home.
