Since the state of emergency caused by the spread of coronavirus has been declared in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the FBiH Civil Protection Headquarter and the Crisis Staff of the FBiH Ministry of Health are in constant session.

“We monitor the situation and make the necessary decisions. Have confidence in our commitment to protecting you. Please follow all the instructions of the competent authorities,” FBiH Prime Minister Novalić told citizens.

He is in constant contact with representatives of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Government of Republika Srpska, cantonal governments, cities and municipalities.

Addressing the citizens, FBiH Civil Protection Chief Jelka Miličević recalled that the first activity after the announcement of state of emergency in the FBiH was the first extraordinary session of the FBiH Headquarters, which was held yesterday.

She pointed out that the mentioned 17 measures completely change the way all institutions work including museums, places for socializing, for public gatherings, change the habits and procedures of entering Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as certain health precautions.

"The authorities also have a great obligation to control and implement these orders. Today, we appeal to the cantonal civil protection staffs, to take these measures seriously or to follow the implementation of orders issued by the Civil Protection Headquarters last night,” said Miličević.

FUCZ Director Fahrudin Solak,  who is now the Chief of the FBiH Civil Protection Headquarters, announced in his address to the citizens of the Federation the permanent work of that staff, as there will certainly be a need for additional measures and additional orders for various institutions, "both vertically at the service and health care and FBiH administrations and cantonal tax administrations and inspections at all levels."

“It is important to emphasize that the orders of the FBiH Civil Protection Staff are binding for everyone in the FBiH. Crisis staffs of the ministries of health at the FBiH and cantonal levels remain operational, but in the function of advisory recommendations to the cantonal and FBiH civil protection staffs. Further, orders were issued to reduce the number of people in certain public places, which is important for one sole reason - risk reduction. We cannot eliminate the risk, but we can reduce it," Solak stressed.

All public meetings, the operation of catering facilities, cafes, hookah bars, etc. are prohibited or canceled, with the exception of catering facilities for food preparation. They can distribute their food to customers by delivery.

Soup kitchens are also an exception to the suspension, with the necessary respect for hygienic-epidemiological measures and a social distance of at least a meter and half between people.

“Theaters, cinemas, art galleries, swimming pools, public baths, hairdressing salons and beauty salons, SPA centers, fitness centers, etc. are prohibited to work.  It is important to note that a social distance of at least one and half meters is introduced in certain shops and supermarkets, markets with hygienic supplies. It is important to adhere to the epidemiological recommendations in the counters of the municipalities, tax administrations, courts, land registries and all other offices that work with clients,” Solak said.

All orders issued at yesterday's extraordinary session of the FBiH Civil Protection Headquarters are due by March 31, and whether they will be extended or possibly shortened will depend on the further level of the epidemiological situation.

FBiH Civil Protection Headquarters is in constant session and a new set of measures or orders will follow from today, Solak also announced.
