Čavara calls for extremely responsible approach to coronavirus control measures

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, March 18 (FENA) – President of the Federation of BiH Marinko Čavara has addressed all residents of the Federation of BiH and BiH regarding the state of disaster caused by the spread of the "COVID-19" virus.

Čavara points out that rapid spread of coronavirus around the world has led to a very serious situation, requiring the utmost responsibility of each individual, today and in the future, to spread the virus as slowly as possible and to ensure that the most vulnerable receive adequate health care.

“I call primarily all officials in the Federation of BiH for maximum responsibility in the exercise of their powers, because in such situations, the most important is the functioning of the state system without any deviations and politicking and improper treatment and decision-making,” said Čavara.

The President of the FBiH points out that this situation is foreseen in the Constitution and laws and we only need to implement them.

“I urge each individual to behave responsibly towards himself/herself and his/her health, and especially towards others, because each of us can be infected by a virus and each of us can pass it on to another person. Therefore, I urge every resident of the Federation of BiH and BiH to abide by the measures and instructions of the competent institutions and the recommendations of crisis staffs and health organizations, in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus together. Responsible behavior at this time is directly related to the magnitude of the negative consequences of the accident that affected us,” stated Čavara.

He congratulated and thanked the staff of the institutions responsible for monitoring and carrying out activities to combat the coronavirus, and in particular to doctors and to their medical staff who work tirelessly and courageously.

“I urge entrepreneurs not to dismiss workers and we will surely find, together with the institutions of the state, ways of concrete support for preservation of companies and jobs,” said the President of FBiH.

He called on media representatives to provide up-to-date and verified information regarding coronavirus, and to refrain from sensationalism, inaccurate and unverified information that could cause unnecessary panic.
