FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, March 16 (FENA) - The Maryland National Guard (MDNG) organized the "Best Warrior Competition 2020" in the US state of Maryland from March 12 to March 15.

The Armed Forces Team of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AFBiH) won first place in all categories at the international level.

Best Warrior competition strengthens relations and builds multinational cohesion and interoperability of partner countries.

Elements and scenario of the competition are designed to depict realistic situations that soldiers may encounter in performing actual operations, and one of the main elements of the competition is the consistency of the unknown, so that participants could not know what awaited them after completing the task.

Following the completion of Best Warrior 2020, a closing ceremony was held on March 15, declaring the best individuals in all categories.

The AFBiH team won first place in all categories of international level, and a silver medal in the overall standings.

During the closing ceremony, Brigadier General Janeen L. Birckhead congratulated all participants on their outstanding results and unselfish contribution.

The participants underwent demanding challenges that, in addition to their high level of physical exericse, also required an excellent knowledge of military skills such as navigation, dismantling and assembling different types of weapons, shooting, first aid in combat conditions, sending medical evacuation requests, and various types of tests.

The AFBiH members once again showed high level of motivation, professionalism, fighting spirit, and at all times worthily represented the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
