Podžić and Kavalec discuss Reform Program and EU integration process

SARAJEVO, February 21 (FENA) - BiH Defense Minister Sifet Podžić received today the Head of the OSCE Mission to BiH, Ambassador Kathleen Kavalec.

Assistant Minister of Defense of BiH for International Cooperation Zoran Šajinović also attended the meeting. Minister Podžić expressed his gratitude for the high level cooperation between the Ministry of Defense of BiH and the OSCE so far, and the result of this cooperation are many realized projects and donations, as well as OSCE support to BiH defense institutions in securing a secure environment and in Euro-Atlantic integration processes.

Podžić emphasized the commitment of the MoD and AFBiH to activities contributing to stability and security in the country and the world, emphasizing the resolution of surplus weapons and destruction of ammunition and explosives, securing warehouses, demining, participation in peace support missions and engagement during natural disasters in the country.

The officials also discussed other issues of the BiH Ministry of Defense, such as the implementation of the adopted document, the Reform Program and further steps in the EU integration process.

Ambassador Kavalec emphasized the OSCE's readiness to continue supporting the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH, as well as to cooperate with other institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina on joint projects with the OSCE, PR Office of the BiH Ministry of Defense announced.
