TUZLA, February 3 (FENA) - With the arrival of nicer weather conditions, we have a new group of migrants that has arrived in Tuzla, and they are located near the bus station in the city. According to unofficial information, more than 50 of them arrived from Serbia.

“Over the last month, we have registered about 806 migrants; in the past week, some 200 of them. It seems to me that some 100 people came to Tuzla over the weekend. So far, their movement has been within the borders of BiH, probably looking for a good enough place to stay. Over the weekend, we could say that we are seeing a new influx of migrants from Serbia. These are the people who were in the migration centers in Serbia,” said the Tuzla Red Cross Secretary Sead Hasić.

When we summarize the data from the previous two years, about 58,000 illegal migrants entered our country. With the first days of spring, another six to eight thousand are expected. They usually reside in tents. Mostly, they want to go to Germany, Belgium, and Italy. Until they reach these destinations they are stuck here, in inhumane conditions.

Volunteer Senad Pirić points out that they do not have enough capacities to meet all the needs of these people.

"If this influx continues, and it probably will, I think a humanitarian crisis can be expected here very soon," he said.

In view of these conditions and the increased number of migrants, the cantonal government reacted. A few days ago, the Minister of Security of BiH was invited to visit the Tuzla Canton. On this occasion, adequate solutions will be sought, the cantonal interior minister Sulejman Brkić said.

According to the information available to the BiH Foreigners Affairs Service, there are currently between seven and eight thousand migrants in Serbia. A large number of them are expected to start heading towards BiH.
